TR/ST is the musical project of producer, singer, and artist Robert Alfons. Weaving an entirely unique sonic tapestry, Alfons has been captivating audiences with his dynamic vocals, emotive lyrics, and late night sensuality for over a decade.

TR/ST (originally founded as “Trust”) built a cult following with early releases like “Candy Walls” and the hazy, rave-leaning “Bulbform.” TR/ST’s self-titled debut album was released in 2012, with lead single “Sulk” emerging as a breakout hit. Named “Best New Track” by Pitchfork, “Sulk” combined propulsive sirens and disco-ready drums and hypnotically layered them under Alfons’ captivating vocal harmonies. Acclaimed upon release, the album was nominated for the Juno Award for Electronic Album of the Year in 2013.

Alfons quickly released TR/ST’s follow-up album Joyland in 2014. The house and acid-influenced record saw Alfons diving even deeper into his singular palette, and it debuted at number 12 on the Billboard Dance/Electronic Albums chart.

2019’s two-part The Destroyer saw Alfons meticulously take apart and reconstruct his musical identity to birth something altogether new. The Destroyer (Part 1) brought audiences into the heart of the nightlife scene – a sleazy, sexual, electronic explosion of all TR/ST’s previous soundscapes – while The Destroyer (Part 2) mixed dream pop and ambient production to achieve a “dreamy synth-heavy powerhouse of an album” (Exclaim).

Near the end of 2023 TR/ST signed with Dais Records and released the swooning, high-gloss single “Robrash.” He quickly followed that up with TR/ST EP, which featured the official release of longtime fan-favorite single “Slug” and saw Alfons collaborating with producers Nightfeelings and Nick Launay, hyperpop sensation Cecile Believe, and Jake Shears of Scissor Sisters.

TR/ST’s newest single, “Soon” was released in May. The “delicate dancefloor anthem” (Stereogum) comes ahead of a 14-date tour throughout Europe in fall 2024.
